Charge
The Nominating Committee selects a slate of election candidates annually for all open officer and governor positions.
This committee reports to the Board of Governors. View a list of the Current Committee Members.

Activities of Committee
- Reviews the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Elections Processes and Timelines.
- Reviews and understands the roles and responsibilities of the CAP Board of Governors and the individual Board positions.
- Reviews information from the Board Qualities Matrix for considering the leadership needs of the CAP.
- Develops criteria on which to base its selection of a slate and communicate those criteria to candidates and potential candidates.
- Interviews all qualified candidates and potential candidates (including incumbents).
- Note: A critical condition of committee service is ability and willingness to travel to the meeting on the predetermined date in order to interview the candidates for nomination.
- Selects one candidate for each open Officer/Governor position and recommend the selected slate to the CAP membership.
- Nominating Committee members are required to keep the deliberations of the committee strictly confidential and refrain from circulating petitions or participating in the campaign of any candidate or potential candidate.
