CAP Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee selects a slate of election candidates annually for all open officer and governor positions.

Activities of Committee

• Reviews the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Elections Processes and Timelines.
• Reviews and understands the roles and responsibilities of the CAP Board of Governors and the individual Board positions.
• Reviews information from the Board Qualities Matrix for considering the leadership needs of the CAP.
• Develops criteria on which to base its selection of a slate and communicate those criteria to candidates and potential candidates.
• Interviews all qualified candidates and potential candidates (including incumbents).
  • Note: A critical condition of committee service is ability and willingness to travel to the meeting on the predetermined date in order to interview the candidates for nomination.
• Selects one candidate for each open Officer/Governor position and recommend the selected slate to the CAP membership.
• Nominating Committee members are required to keep the deliberations of the committee strictly confidential and refrain from circulating petitions or participating in the campaign of any candidate or potential candidate.
