- CAP Statement on Latest Surprise Billing Proposal from Ways and Means Committee
WASHINGTON, DC — The College of American Pathologists (CAP) issued the following statement after the release of a proposal on surprise medical bills from the House Ways & Means Committee:
The legislative framework on surprise medical bills put forward by the House Ways & Means Committee clearly shows there are more options to address this important issue. The CAP remains focused on a balanced solution that holds patients harmless and does not institute a lopsided reimbursement mechanism to settle billing disputes between insurers and physicians. The CAP looks forward to working with the committee on its proposal to stop surprise medical bills for our patients.
