As a service to CAP-accredited laboratories, the CAP is providing the following update regarding the Team Leader Assessment of Director & Quality Checklist.
The 2017 checklist edition is scheduled to be released during the week of August 21, 2017. Effective on the date of the release, the name of the Team Leader Assessment of Director & Quality Checklist (TLC) will be changed to the Director Assessment Checklist. This will impact all editions of the checklist generated (electronic or paper versions) on or after the release of the 2017 checklist edition. Please note that the three letter acronym "TLC" assigned to identify each requirement will continue to be used with the 2017 checklist edition.
Why is the Team Leader Checklist name being changed?
- To emphasize the laboratory's director's role in the overall oversight of the laboratory's functions and activities
- To focus on the assessment of the laboratory director
- To help clarify the checklist’s overall intent.
